Custom-upholstered Furst of Chesterfield Sofa, 3-seater-plus, Leather

Our best selling Chesterfield Sofa is now in top grain Novillo calf leather from France. This modern vintage 3-seater settee is hand-tufted on its back rest and seat, built with solid hard birch wood frame, lined with nail head trim and with individual pocketed springs on seat cushion for contoured support and comfort.

We use only French and North American calf leather in this range of sofas. Typically reserved for use in luxury products, calf leather is particularly valuable because of its softness and fine grain, as well as durability. 

Calfskin or calf leather is used to produce a high quality, attractive leather with a soft, fine feel. Calfskin has a smooth surface, which is dense, lightweight, and abrasion resistant. Calfskin takes on high luster with us.

Novillo calfskin are hides from Novillo or steers i.e. they are young bull under three years old. Young hides are known for its comfort, and finer than cowhides which are generally from older cattle. Moreover, because the fiber structure of calfskin is denser, tighter and stronger as they have not been stretched in the course of maturity, they are more durable and abrasion resistant.
